Description

This course provides a clear and practical overview of how title companies support and protect real estate transactions from contract to closing. Participants will learn what a property title is, how title searches are conducted, and what information a title commitment or title report provides. The class explores the essential functions of title companies; verifying ownership, identifying defects such as liens or easements, coordinating escrow, preparing settlement documents, and ensuring proper recording after closing.

Attendees will also gain insight into how title professionals work alongside REALTORS®, lenders, and closing attorneys to prevent delays, resolve problems proactively, and maintain transaction integrity. By understanding the workflow of a title company and the common issues they help uncover and address, real estate professionals will be better equipped to guide clients, interpret key documents, and support a smooth path to closing.
