Broker Tools | CBOR Membership Joining Process

Keep these procedures handy if you have a new licensee interested in joining your Brokerage & CBOR

Before they join your brokerage:

Brokers frequently interact with individuals seeking to obtain their Real Estate License in Missouri.

Brokers are encouraged to share the following resources to those individuals as potential avenues for completing their Missouri Real Estate Commission licensure requirements:

Phil Gardner School of Real Estate (online & in-person options)

The CE Shop (online)

Congrats! you have a new licensee joining your brokerage and they need to join CBOR...

If a licensee in Missouri places their license with an MLS Participant (the Broker of a company belonging to an MLS) that individual must join a REALTOR® Association & MLS.

Brokers should be aware of the following CBOR new member joining protocols and pass along any pertinent information to those individuals seeking membership with CBOR:

#1: Contact CBOR

Make sure either you or your new member emails Rachel Davis for the current month's New Member Fees & Paperwork.

Please do not provide your new members with CBOR joining paperwork – this must be requested directly from rachel@cbormls.com

#2: Ensure your new agent knows the fees to join

Oftentimes, new members are unaware there are significant application fees and dues owed at the time of joining the Board—the amount of Dues owed when joining CBOR is best distributed to New Members directly from Rachel well before they intend on joining so they can save accordingly and for the correct amounts. Make sure to encourage your new agent to reach out to Rachel for these fees.

#3: Completing Paperwork

New Members need to fill out paperwork PRIOR to arriving to their new member appointment. Not completing their paperwork prior to their scheduled appointment will delay the joining process.

#4 Send Paperwork to CBOR

New Members must scan their completed paperwork to Rachel prior to the appointment; this saves time registering members in the MLS databases prior to their join date.

#5 Schedule Meeting

CBOR does NOT accept walk-ins for joining the Association.

New Members must schedule a date & time with Rachel Davis to join. The joining process takes upwards of an hour

CBOR Staff created this helpful video explaining the joining process and membership benefits for new members considering REALTOR membership. Feel free to pass this video along to any prospective agents:

Side Note:

Broker members shall notify rachel@cbormls.com of any additional individual(s) licensed or certified with the firm(s) within thirty (30) days of their date of affiliation with the participating brokerage. New licensees have 30 days to join CBOR after they place their license with you if they haven't yet joined another Association & MLS.

....wanting to know more about the joining process from start to finish? Next time you have a new licensee joining CBOR, you are welcome to attend their New Member meeting OR feel free to schedule a time with Rachel and she can go over the materials with you one-on-one!
