Broker Tools | CBOR Membership Termination Procedures

It's never easy seeing a member leave, but if you have an agent that decides to terminate their membership, or if you as a Broker opt to terminate your membership with CBOR, read thru the steps below so you are well prepared.

Brokers must notify CBOR a member is leaving the membership in writing:

Participants of the Service may discontinue their service, or a Subscriber’s service, by providing written email notice to rachel@cbormls.com.

The Participant or Subscriber will be billed for the next month’s recurring MLS fees if notice is given after the 28th of the month preceding the month of discontinued service. If the 28th of the month preceding the month of discontinued service falls on a weekend or holiday, notice must be given on the last business day prior to the 28th of that month.

Members who may consider rejoining at some point down the road should keep the following in mind:

If a Participant or Subscriber has formerly been a member of the MLS and has been inactive for 6 months or more and wish to reapply for Participation or Subscription to the MLS, that Participant or Subscriber must remit all application and recurring MLS fees that are assessed for a new Participant or Subscriber joining the MLS.

If a Participant or Subscriber has been inactive for less than 6 months and wishes to reapply for MLS Participation or Subscription, that Participant or Subscriber must remit MLS recurring dues that would have been assessed during the time that Participant or Subscriber was inactive.

Annual Dues Renewal

CBOR sees the most membership changes during Annual Dues renewal (December 31st is Due Date for Annual Dues remittance).

Brokers should be aware if a member in your brokerage has not paid their Annual Dues renewal by December 31st, the member will automatically be assessed a $100.00 late fee. If the member has not paid their Annual Dues + Late Fee by January 31st, their Broker will automatically become responsible for that person’s Annual Dues + Late Fee amount whether or not that agent plans to renew and/or maintain their license with that Broker.
