Broker Tools | CBOR Membership Transfer Procedures

Brokers should be aware of CBOR’s transfer protocols for situations where a member may be transferring out of your office or alternatively transferring to your office from another participating brokerage firm in the CBOR MLS.

CBOR MLS Transfer of Licensee Affiliation Policy

1. Participants must notify the Board office, in writing, that a Subscriber is no longer affiliated with that Participant and the effective date of that transfer.

2. Participants must provide the Board office with a copy of the appropriate paperwork sent to the Missouri Real Estate Commission indicating the Participant or Subscriber is transferring their license.

3. Participants/Subscribers will only be transferred with CBORMLS if they are in Good Standing with the Association and Multiple Listing Service. Any outstanding balances owed by Participant/Subscriber must be paid prior to transfer with CBORMLS.

4. Participants transferring a Subscriber’s license to another Broker at any time during any month are responsible for that full month’s MLS fees for that Subscriber.

#1 MREC License Transfer

The Missouri Real Estate Commission will charge the licensee a $50.00 transfer fee to place their license with the new Brokerage.

#2 Work Permit to CBOR

Scan a copy of the transferring member’s MREC issued work permit to rachel@cbormls.com

#3 CBOR Transfer Fee

CBOR charges the transferring member a $50.00 CBOR Office Transfer Fee (this is a separate fee from what the MREC charges). This fee is assessed to any CBOR member who transfers to another Participating brokerage in the CBORMLS.

Some Brokers opt to pay the $50.00 CBOR transfer fee on behalf of their incoming agent. If a Broker is wishing to pay the transfer fee, CBOR can charge or invoice the Broker at the time of transfer. The agent transferring is responsible for payment of the CBOR transfer fee prior to CBOR processing the transfer, if the new Broker has not communicated to CBOR they will be paying the transfer fee on behalf of the incoming agent

#4 Update Contact Info

All agents transferring must update any relevant contact information on file for their membership record at the time of transfer with Rachel Davis.

#5 Current Listings

Members transferring will need to coordinate with their former Broker to deem which listings (if any) will be cancelled and potentially relisted under the new brokerage firm.

Pending listings traditionally stay with the former brokerage until they close.

#6 Cancellation of Listings

If a member transfers offices and there are outstanding listings needing to be cancelled in the MLS –  the cancellation status will be the responsibility of the former Broker to facilitate in the FlexMLS system.

All cancellations must be made within 1 Business Day of the effective date of the signed cancellation.

#7 TransactionDesk Files

When a member transfers offices in the MLS, there will be a temporary hold on any formerly created TransactionDesk files – those files will be inaccessible to the transferring member for a period of 24 hours.

Former TransactionDesk files are by default transferred back to the transferring member unless the former Broker has specifically requested in writing to rachel@cbormls.com they wish for the former transaction files to stay with the former brokerage TransactionDesk account.
